Let's start again!!
January 3rd 2008 21:48
2008 got off to a shocking start when Soreadyforspring was beaten out of a place on New Year's Day. Let's hope we can snap that trend pretty quickly and get on some nice winners to get the year rolling.
Sandown have a meeting for horses that have never won in the metro area. With all due respects, this has no place being on a Saturday race card. Saturdays are for horses that have earned the right to compete for 50 grand a race, not strugglers straight out of maiden class.
The job of the punter is to find the rough diamonds at this sort of meeting, there may be one or two floating about. Race 4 sees General Relativity entered, last start he led all the way to win easily at Ballarat, he was heavily backed that day and duly did the job for punters. This is only a slight step up in class and I think he is equipped to handle that, he is an on pace runner that will take running down.
Today (Friday) they race at Swan HIll. It's a bit strange to be looking at this sort of meeting but I was taken with the run of Oshoto last start, he was initally run off his feet by the flying Sienna Star but recovered to be making ground on the rail on a wet Tatura course. No other horse made ground on the rail all day. He is trained by Todd Rawiller, sister Casey rode him last start but big brother Brad goes on here which may indicate that he is ready to win and the stable want the job done properly.
Tip Summary
Swan Hill race 4# 6 Oshoto
Sandown race 4 #5 General Relativity
Good Punting
